In fact, it has claim to ‘Best-in-Class standard V6 horsepower.’ Next is the 5.7L HEMI V8. For those looking for ultimate towing capability, this engine can include Ram’s eTorque Mild Hybrid System. This results in a V8 gas towing capacity of up to 12,750 pounds with Best-in-Class available V8 combined 4×4 fuel economy. Pretty impressive! Then there is the newly available 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 Engine. It represents both power and efficiency and achieves 480 lb-ft of diesel torque and a diesel towing capacity of 12,560 pounds.

2020 Chevy Silverado LT Double Cab Power & Handling

The Silverado LT Double Cab comes standard with a 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that makes 310 horsepower and 348 lb-ft of torque that pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission. There are two optional engines for LT buyers. First is the 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 with auto stop/start technology. It offers up 355 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque and uses an 8-speed automatic transmission. Chevy’s answer to Ram’s EcoDiesel is the DURAMAX 3.0L Turbo-diesel I-6. With its 10-speed automatic transmission, it puts out 277 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque and has a 9,300-lb. maximum towing capability.

Going with the RAM 1500 Big Horn Quad Cab certainly has its perks. For starters, it boasts sharp chrome accents and available appearance packages with style options and even more comfort features such as premium cloth seating and a Uconnect system with a Uconnect 12.0 with a largest-in-class 12-inch touchscreen. Inside the cabin, there are additional flourishes, including four color combinations and an available package with a power driver seat. Also available is a Sport Appearance package with body-color front and rear bumpers and a body grille with monochromatic paint. Meanwhile, cloth and vinyl bucket seats add to the styling. Finally, a bold chrome brings a distinctive styling to the front and rear bumpers, grille, and door handles.

The Chevrolet Silverado LT Double Cab combines an iconic look with classic styling. There is an essential truck appeal with the Silverado LT as it comes with chrome bumpers, center grille bar, and mirror caps that are accentuated by a body-color door handles and 17-inch Bright Silver-painted aluminum wheels. More signature styling can be found in the LED headlamps and daytime running lamps. This feature lineup adds to the previous trims complement of air conditioning, a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. There are a few safety features such as with braking, and a safety alert seat. As much as we love the features on the Silverado, we are simply blown away by everything the RAM 1500 Big Horn Quad Cab.

Conclusion:

While both pickups have their merits, we like the RAM 1500 Big Horn Quad Cab a little more. Its engines provide a ton of horsepower and torque, but what blows us away is the 12,750-pound payload capacity. As for the features, the RAM has something the Silverado doesn’t, and that’s a best-in-class Uconnect system with a 12-inch touchscreen.
